DETECTION, IDENTIFICATION, ISOLATION:
BUILDING SENTRY ONE™
SMART AND FAST
TABS’ mitigation methodology begins with Building Protection Systems International (BPSI)’s Building Sentry One™(BSO). BSO delivers complimentary detection and control capabilities to any and all building control systems, coupling an intelligent sensor array onto the HVAC system that detects changes to the chemical and radiological of a site, comparing baseline readings against a pre-defined threat compendium, and rechecking positive hits to the list in milliseconds. Upon detection confirmation, signals are sent to the building control system, shutting down the HVAC in seconds and triggering the abatement process.
ACCURATE
Building Sentry One™ utilizes the same sensor technology chosen by the military, law enforcement and regulatory agencies to protect sensitive mission critical installations, transportation hubs, public spaces and elected officials. Reliable under duress, these sensors are extremely sensitive to changes in the environment and represent best-in-class technology. Proprietary firmware and software eliminates the preponderance of false positives, bringing confidence levels above 99%. Further, once initially calibrated at installation, the sensors continuously self-calibrate and temperature adjust to insure accuracy and long life.
HARD TO KILL
To meet exacting real-world demands and site specific criteria, Building Sentry One™ operates on a wide array of communications protocols, affording redundant communication with the device when required. The “handshake” design alerts the BSO when communication between the main component and a sensor array is dropped, so that in the event of a cut cable or other contact disruption, BSO notifies TABS of changes to the system, and continues its job under a secondary redundant communications mode.
SCIENTIFIC CREDENCE AND ACCEPTANCE
In a scientific field measured in decades, the collective experience for the Building Sentry One ™ development team runs to centuries. Building Sentry One™ was designed under the guidance of America’s leading chemical, nuclear and defense scientists whose deep familiarity with federal & military standards of operations has engendered BSO’s full integration with the chemical and radiological detection algorithms supported by Los Alamos National Lab and Lawrence Livermore National Lab protocols. This compliance reduces the likelihood of false positives to a negligible figure, while ensuring that positive hits receive the proper first-responder deployment. This compliance, along with BSO’s compliance to the highest technical, scientific and security standards, earned Building Sentry One™ designationby the Department of Homeland Security as a Qualified Anti Terrorism Technology under the SAFETY Act.
THE SUPPORT ANTI-TERRORISM BY FOSTERING EFFECTIVE TECHNOLOGY (SAFETY) ACT
In 2002, Congress passed legislation empowering the Department of Homeland Security to create strategies to protect the nation’s citizens, infrastructure and economy. The body of legislation provides for rigorous scientific testing and investigation of new technologies by DHS prior to the agency’s authorization of the technology as “approved”. In June 2008, Building Sentry One™ received the Department of Homeland Security Certificate of Safety Act Designation as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology (QATT), representative of a thorough federal vetting of Building Sentry One™ as a viable anti-terrorism solution.
Why is this important? The SAFETY Act’s goal of rapid adoption of protective technologies by the private sector is not so much enforced as it is incentivized: it provides for the limiting of liability for death and property loss when designated technologies are utilized; thus, implementation of the Building Sentry One™ delivers shelter from liability while in operation.
BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER:
24 x 7 monitoring from the TABS Network Operations Center
While the Building Sentry One™ and Beth El FiltAir purification systems together form a powerful, industry-leading solution to the problem of protecting commercial office buildings, a key aspect of TABS’ overall delivery strategy is a robust and feature rich continuous monitoring platform. The TABS Network Operations Center (NOC) is comprised of three major subsystems:
- Alarm Processing Subsystem
- Asset Management and Preventative Maintenance Subsystem
- Post-alarm Notification and Information Sharing Subsystem
This platform, based on Duos Technology's Centraco™ Comand and Control Management Platformis designed to address operational and security driven management challenges. The platform draws on the years of customer and "real life" situational input encountered during Duos' history building complex, multi-layered sensor monitoring platforms for law enforcement, security and transportation applications. Centraco's open and modular archtecture allows for endless scalability, to accomodate complex sensor deployments and multiple feedback layer integration.
